DC Shunt generator

Shunt  Generator
A shunt Generator consists of armature winding and the field winding in parallel. The magnetic field of the generator are exited by coils around the field poles. the construction of these coils and their connections to other electrical circuits determine the operating characteristics of the machine

where:
V- terminal voltage, voltage at the load,V
 IL- is the Load current
 E- Generated emf, V
 Ia- Armature current,A
 If-  Shunt field current,A

Rf- The shunt field winding, ohms
Ra-The armature winding ,ohmsThe diagram can be analyzed using KVL

DC shunt generator formula

Power input or power generated = E .Ia watts
Power output or power delivered = V. IL
Losses= Electrical losses + Mechanical losses

  3. Hi can you please assist me with the following calculation of a shunt wound generator:

A six-pole d.c. shunt generator has a wavewound armature with 412 conductors. The flux per pole is 0,02 Wb, and it is driven at a speed (a) (b) (c) FIG. 1.3 of 1 250 r/min. The armature resistance is 0,15 H and the field resistance 125 ft. The brush contact drop is 2,4 V. If the terminal voltage is maintained at 500 V, calculate the current supplied to the load
